Alexander
One of the lesser known summons in the Final Fantasy series is Alexander, and Alexander is a gigantic robot-castle-thing, and often appears as a badass fortress. In Final Fantasy IX Alexander is summoned as part of the main storyline, and appears as an extension of Alexandria, and with his enormous white wings he protects the city from Bahamut’s onslaught. In the twelfth incarnation of the series Alexander is a large battleship, and is the largest in the fleet, only the Sky Fortress Bahamut is bigger.
Alexander is a popular name whose name means “protector of mankind”. In most of the games Alexander does in fact act as a protector of the playable characters. It could also be in relation to Alexander the Great, a Macedonian king of the ancient world.
